Not usually, though we are economically. But recently things have changed with the NeoCons having the ear of power. They decided with the collapse of the Soviet Union that there was an opportunity to gain hegemony over the Persian Gulf Oil Region and went for it. Thus the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. This walks and talks like the duck of imperialism to most people. It is a first for this country to behave in this way, though Vietnam was not far behind in style.

No. What are you some kind of liberal? The U.S. has given more world aid than anybody else and expects nothing in return. Every world disaster, we have given billions of dollars in aid and we never get any help but yet we continue to be kind-hearted. Whenever there is a war that needs to be fought against evil (eg., Saddam Hussein, Adolf Hitler) we are there representing the good. Get real, without the U.S. evil would have overtaken the world. The U.S. is the best country in the world, we are way too kind. If you think the U.S. is an imperialist nation, than try living in a middle eastern country.
