Congratulations! You're only slightly behind me in that process, and I've got about 4GB of songs running on my iPod Video. I still buy them on CD and have iTunes rip them into my library. Downloading is strictly optional.

As for model, it depends on what you want to do with it. If you're a jogger, I'd definitely look at the Shuffle or Nano, depending on how much music you already own. Flash-based players do not having any internal moving parts that'll react badly to the jarring impact that jogging produces (biking or walking don't have the same problem). That's the most important issue you should be shopping for.

If you don't jog, then it comes down to what else you'd want to do with it. The 5G can do videos and iTunes-purchased games. The Nano can't do either. The 5G can hold enough songs to not repeat for days, the 8GB Nano can do the same for about a week, tops (um, that's not taking time off for you to sleep, BTW). 4GB is enough that you should be able to get through a week of work without hearing the same song twice. But if you've got boxes upon boxes of CDs (I once met a guy who spend $1000+ at Tower Records in one visit to NYC, but he taught private violin lessons and was a serious classical music nut, and yes, considered every one of those CDs to be an essential purchase), you just might need to look at the 80GB Video. Figure you can get about 24-25 CDs loaded per GB of capacity, so the 30GB should top out at approximately, oh, 720-750 CDs. That is, assuming, you just use it for music. If you plan to add lots of videos, photos, podcasts, etc., figure you'll get even less music on there before other stuff starts getting bumped off. I've got about 50 on my 30GB right now, so if the 8GB Nano had been available when I bought it, that would have been a viable option for me as well, and I might pick one up someday just for use at work. For general use, however, I like having the video capability, especially since my new digital camera is video capable (granted, I have to have iTunes convert .MOV format to .M4V format, but that's a minor issue).

well there are many Ipods. The 80GB can hold like i am not sure exactally but like 20 thousand songs. I have a 60GB Video which holds 15 thou. Its very good. But it depends how many songs u wish to load on to your Ipod. Loading songs is easy aswell. just take your CD load it into ut Disk drive on your p.c. "import" the music to your Itunes LIbrary, then click "file" then click "sync Ipod" which will load your songs on :)

enjoy :)
