My builder needed to fix my bowed garage. He can not find the same color brick. Can I stain a lighter color brick? How difficult is it?

You can acid etch the brick first using muriatic acid.

Then buy commercial masonry stain at paint store.

We did this sucesfully on our house, however we wound up painting the mortar joints using a latex to seal them up and to get rid of their aged appearance. We stained a red brick to a frosted white and its lasted over 10 years so far. It looks good.

Cant do it...you can paint over all the brick, so it matches, but it looks kind of lame...try to match as best as possible, but dont worry too much if it doesnt, in a few years it will weather and not be as noticeible
