Well, first off, friendship, is the base of any marriage. We have to be friends with our spouse before anything. Trust is very important, never ever do anything to lose trust in one another, once that is gone, its very difficult to maintain a sense of security with one another. Communication is the key, never stop talking to one another, always talk, and share your feelings..in this, you also keep your friendship alive. Never go to bed angry or mad at one another. When you do have fights and arguments, do them in a constructive way...NEVER call names, this is disrespectful and damaging...My husband and I have never called each other names. I love him all the more for it..
Also, accept the fact that you both have a past..and the past is what makes you and your spouse who you are today. I know someone who cannot deal with her husbands past, and critizes him for it, alot, even puts his ex down..this is wrong, and it has pushed him away from her...She is not realizing his past made him the incredible man he is today....
So jealousy is not a good thing either....Accept and go on.
Marriage can be incredible...if you work on it and want it to work. I love being married, I married my best friend, and Im proud of what we have.
Hope this helps some...

Marry the person you LIKE as well as love. Never go to bed mad. Always give them the benefit of the doubt. Never give them reason to not trust you. Never lie to them.Talk to each other, and communicate. Lastly, treat them the way you want to be treated!

You know that is a tough question. Marriage is one of the hardest things in life (beside having kids). It takes trust, honesty, dedication and much, much more. You have to keep the romance alive.

Be friends. Communicate. Never go to bed angry. Stay playful and laugh. Love them unconditionally. Never lie. Be able to say you are wrong or sorry. Just to name a few.

Live in separate houses??? lol I would say communication is imperative. And trust. If you can talk about anything, including disagreements, then you can make anything work. And you have to trust your partner, not to hurt you or not to lie/deceive you.
