Judy Garland, if you have paid attention over recent decades, you'd see that changes in law have increased Democracy and eroded our Rights.
For example, the Democratic thing to do is to make private property subject to public wishes. A Supreme Court ruling last year allowed private land and homes to be seized by even minor State officials and given to other private individuals to build businesses that generate tax revenue. One's Right to own property has been subverted by democracy.
And what about firearm ownership? One has an absolute Right to own combat firearms. Yet, the process of democracy has allowed all sorts of restrictions because some of the public 'wants them'.
Our form of government was designed to protect our Rights against democracy. It is failing.

Biggest recent change has been campaign finance reform that imposed a striking reduction in the ability of ordinary Americans (but not mass media) to express themselves publicly regarding candidates for election. All Americans should be concerned about this, but the technicalities of the law seem to have left most unaware of the consequences.

Well, I'm only 16, so maybe I don't have any buisiness answering this, but I have something to say. Laws that apply to children now days are pretty stupid and demeaning. I think they have lowered the qaulity of life for everybody in the U.S., especially kids. All kinds of dumb rules about school and curfew and driving and smoking and drinking. I think that kids should be allowed to drink and smoke; it's their desicion I think. That's just my personal feelings though.
