Currently, you are taxed higher if you make more money. Substantially higher.

Effectively, this is a dis-incentive to contribute more to society.

Should we not provide incentives for being MORE productive, as opposed to less?

... um... you couldn't get much money out of poor people... and taking more away doesn't make them magically rich...

it's like me beating you up and you're pretty much passed out... then saying you'll start fighting back if I keep beating you...

incentive only works if everyone has the same opportunity... and the world is far from that in every country...

your idea is basically an invitation to a revolution...

Your assumption is flawed. What the right wing never acknowledge is the litany of write offs the rich take to lower their burden. The more you make, the less percentage of your true annual income you pay taxes on due to the write offs.

Some one making two million dollars per year, in a higher tax bracket, only pays taxes on about 60% of their true annual income due to write offs. I wish people would discuss real matters with real honesty and full disclosure of relevent information.
