I've heard of both. Just think positive thoughts. At 5 weeks my HCG was over 3,000, I sent in for a sono at 6 weeks and saw an empty sac. At 7 weeks I went back for another sono and found out I was pregnant with twins.
Think positive thoughts and don't worry until you found out. Easier said than done, I know.

I had an IUI done last month and got a blood test 2 weeks later and got a positive, but low...only 32 and I went back 2 days later and it went down so I had a chemical pregnancy (early miscarried pregnancy). However, your HCG of 100 is much better so I don't think you need to worry too much. Good luck and congratulations! I have to do another cycle of IUI next month so please keep your fingers crossed for me. Keep me posted with your result tomorrow. Hope you will have an easy 9 months pregnancy.

I have never heard of the level going down unless the numbers were very low to start with. If they didn't warn you about the number, your number was good, and the chances of something happening are very low. Congrats on your pregnancy!

Yes, unfortunately I do know someone that it happened to. It can happen to any woman that becomes pregnant... if the levels go down after confirmed pregancy then it just means you miscarried. However if that was the case then you would experience cramping and bleeding. If that isnt happening then chances are everything is just fine.
CONGRATS!!

While I didn't go through IVF, when I was suspected of having a miscarriage I had to do that, and unfortunately my levels did go down the second time (at that time I was also having period-heavy bleeding). Good luck.

It is more that they are checking to make sure your body is not rejecting the pregnancy, it is often refered to as a vanishing pregnancy, it happens I believe 30% of pregnancies, you dont even miss a period
