Weeeell...not exactly, they were defined by titles rather than names ie Papa Smurf, Handy Smurf, Baker Smurf and so on. And there was only one female - Smurfette...who must have been a busy girl.

No I don't think so. I have searched the good book and papa smurfs name was no where to be found. What would happen if toones got saved. I have not heard that in years. lol

Only insofar as they had a "first name" that usually defined them, and gave an idea as to what they did or what they were. Please remember, this is just a cartoon - things don't have to make sense to be enjoyed. After all - to the best of my memory, Gargamel didn't have a last name....
