both boxers are catholics, and just before the fight the grandmothers for both prayed to god for his guidance and asking help for their sons to get the title, somehow at the end of the fight one of them wins the title, Does it mean GOD chooses whose winning and whose losing?is it the prayer that makes the difference?

No, it means that God doesn't choose who wins.

Some might even say that who ever prayed for the safety of the opponent wound up being the winner. God kinda likes it when someone is selfless and concerned about someone else's welfare.

Some might say that God won't choose a winner because he instills free will, and who ever chose to work harder will win.

Nah, its better that you know that someone is watching over you, gives you better confidence. But skill wins all.
