As a teacher, I am not sure I understand your question. Where I teach, we EARN sick days as part of our service. We do not get personal days or vacation days. We do not get paid for summer break, spring break or winter break. We get low pay, but we do get 12 sick days a year. If I miss a day, I do not get "extra pay" as you claim. I get my regular pay and a sick day is deducted.
As far as accumulating sick days, my school system will pay us for 25% of those accumulated days upon retirement. We lose the remaining 75%.

Almost all salaried jobs offer paid sick days as part of the benefits package--- included with paid vacation and health insurance.
If they don't use them, the district has to pay them for those days when they retire or quit. Those days and that money belongs to them, as per the employment agreements that are made when they are hired.

Yeah, I know I'm rich already. I get paid overtime too. And a company car, and I have a sectretary, two teacher aides, my own copy machine, a one hour lunch break, two smoke breaks and the school district gives me an extra allowance for clothes, free lunch, a complimentary gym membership and once a year, the principal takes us all out in a big white hummer limo.

TEACHERS GET PAID FOR SICK DAYS BECAUSE THEY MAKE A SALARY, THEY DONT GET PAID HOURLY.THAT IS ALSO PART OF THERE CONTRACT WHEN THEY ARE HIRED.NOT TO MENTION THEY DONT GET PAID ENOUGH FOR WHAT THEY DO SO IF THEY DECIDE NOT TO USE THEM THEY STILL DESERVE TO EARN THE EXTRA MONEY BECAUSE ITS IN THERE CONTRACT AND IT LIKE WORKING AN EXTRA WEEK OR TO EVEN WHEN THEY DONT.

Where do you get your flawed information from? We don't get paid extra for sick days.

What?
We are only paid for days we miss when they are due to illness.
Ihave worked in many types of employment and none are close to the professionalism of teachers I have worked with.
