if muscle tissue swells as a result of the fall could it be that that swelling is pinching the nerves and is it causing the blood to slow down ans swelling of veins is the result.consult some one or massage the upper part of the arm so that the swelling has somewhere to go.as long as there is edema, the fluid is stagnant and cant move.which is the reason for the massage

I would definately go to a doctor. Any type of pain (especially one that sounds that bad) seems worth checking out. I am not sure what it could be -- dislocated something, pinched nerve...?? Worst case the doctor tells you you are fine but to take advil. Feel better!

chiropracter and a rmt (registered massage therapist) the same thing happened to me but it was my pelvis out of place. so my chiro told me that usualy that happens if you had a fall or something (which i didn't but thats besides the point lol) so maybe for you its your shoulder blade or something that you knocked. and rmt to just loosen up your muscles and stuff. hope you feel better

Lots of reasons that could cause this but it also is an indicator of heart disease. Please check with a Dr. as better safe than sorry.
