at my work place we are reqiured to do additional service to make us stand out to be the best company out there. because i havent gotten a raise for all the good work ive been doing i like to take short cuts is that justifable?

As long as the "short cuts" don't effect the outcome of your work.
Even though you may be resentful of the lack of appreciation shown, it doesn't make it acceptable for the quality of your work to drop below par. If the short cuts you take make the end result below average, you won't get the raise you are looking for, nor will you get any promotions. If the quality drops low enough, you may even get a pay cut, a demotion, or even a termination as a result.
Only you can decide how important your job is to you, how far you are willing to go as an employee to be successful, and how much you will do to stand out as an employee that deserves recognition.

If the quality of your required output does not suffer, it is ok to find faster ways to get your work done. But be careful...they may see you having extra time on your hands and pile on more work!
