Would you ever consider writing to a serial killer? I write to numerious killers and have found that most of them are very nice people and I really enjoy talking to them. We never discuss the crimes but everything else is fair game. Check out some of the letters I have recieved from them at: http://www.Write-A-Murderer.com I have written to Charles Manson, Susan Atkins, John Wayne Gacy, Arthur Shawcross, ect... Some of the worst killers there are. Yet I have never had a bad experience in talking to them. I feel that they are people too and everyone deserves a second chance. They may have done some horrible things in the past but they are now paying for them. Would you ever consider writing to a killer? Or sending them care packages or other supplies they may need?

In response to Bud's Girl, Manson NEVER ordered the fetus removed. Manson never even knew exactly what was going on the first night. He wasn't there, that was all Tex Watson's doing and his planning. I think Manson may have had an idea about what was going to happen, but he has said numerious times and even to this day still says that he never told anyone to kill. That they assumed that was what he wanted and did it. He does admit to helping them cover up the murders and does admit to trying to help them not get caught the second night of killings by tying up the LiBanca's (sp). But even then he left BEFORE any of them were killed. Manson maintains that he was afraid he would be drug into everything since they were his friends and they all lived together. And he was. He should never had been charged with murder. Accessory to murder and conspiricy to cover it up yeah but not the actual murders.

NO! No! & No! - i work in law enforcement. I get to interview murderers , rapist, thieves, gang members & child molesters... and they all try to win you over. I would never call a serial killer "nice". I don't know what you do for a living or what you have experienced in life, but I seem to think that you are naive to believe that serial killers are "paying" for the things that they did. I don't believe that they even feel remorse for what they have done, because if they did, they would not have continued to murder more than one person. No, they do not deserve a second chance or a care package. Think about their innocent victims and their families - they are living with the horrible act of violence that those sick people committed.

Of course they seem like nice people, their only connection to the outside world is letters and the occasional visit. Philip Jablonski escaped from prison and murdered a pen pal, Richard Ramirez is a pervert, Jack Trawick used a pen pal to post gory remorseless writings on the internet, David Gore likes discussing his murders and cannibalism, Keith Jesperson uses his past to sell his crappy artwork….I could go on.
I have not had a bad experience with any serial killer, in fact, I think Jack Trawick and Richard Ramirez are two of the nicest people I have written to...but I don’t allow myself to feel sympathy for them because of a few kind words, and I would never send money to add to their undeserved comfort.

One of the characteristics of all true serial killers is brilliance. For all of their horrible characteristics, that is one positive one. They are brilliant enough to commit multiple murders without getting caught, and are usually very manipulative and charming.
So, no, I would never write to a serial killer and expect that he or she was really, deep down, a decent person. Anyone who believes that is being totally played, manipulated by someone who is incredibly smart, horribly bored, and completely evil.

No. I can't believe they would even be allowed to have a computer in prison. They should be sending care packages and supplies to the families that they hurt.

I wouldn't write to people who have taken other people's lives like that. Did it occur to you while you were writing to Manson that he ordered the fetus to be cut out of Sharon Tate's body?

No, I don't think so. And to LucieLala- you are mistaken. Not all serial killers are brilliant. Think Charles Manson, with and IQ of 109.
