I think you are talking about upgrading your BIOS to a newer version, which is called "flashing" your BIOS.

Go out to Intel's website and look up the support page on your motherboard. There should be BIOS updates available for download with instructions on how to do it. Typically, the program you download makes a bootable floppy that you use at startup. The flashing process is pretty much automatic after that.
