it was base plus commission and you made $5,000 in commission a month but it would be $6,000 but your company takes the first $1,000 every month because that offsets cost to your manager and other company cost.

Some people will think well you are making 60 grand plus your base, dont complain, but I dont think this is fair. I mean this was NOT told to me when I was hired, and thats $12,000 a year that I could use. I thought the company paid for the managers pay and other company cost by other means NOT taken out of MY SALES!

What do you think???

well, it does sound like a sweet deal, but i completely agree with you, it's not fair to have it taken out of ur salary, and $12000 per year IS alot of money! and something like this has to be at least be mentioned in ur contract... so i suggest u look over the contract agreement again before bringing the issue up, just in case u missed something. and try talking to colleagues, maybe get a better picture of what's going on. if it's just u who's getting screwed then something's definately wrong. and if it's everyone, then maybe u can collectively cause a change. anyway... good luck!

Didn't you ask salary and wage questions when you interviewed for th ejob before deciding to take it?
In some companies, that is how it works- yeah it sucks but you accepted the job.
Look for another job. Or try to get into management in that company if you like it there. And smile and be pleasant while/after you do so. Don't burn any bridges- you never know what opportunites go down in cinders with them. You make no friends being the disgruntled guy.
Good luck!
