Many people object to the concept of Pluto being a planet, since it appears instead to be part of the Kuiper belt, a recent addition to the structure of the solar system. If pluto is a planet, for instance, then every Kuiper belt object must be a planet, and it's assumed there are probably hundreds or more the size of Pluto or bigger. The Kuiper belt is a belt of debris just past the planet Neptune, similar to the asteroid belt, but farther out and harder to detect. Pluto appears to be one of the innermost of it's objects, since it has a highly eccentric orbit highly inclinded to the ecliptic, like most Kuiper belt objects (thus making it a "belt", and not a "disk").

Actually, it would make a BIG difference!! If we let Pluto stay in our solar sytem, we would have hundreds of planets right now. Astronomers have discovered a LOT of planets just as small as Pluto, even smaller, so what would be the point of having asamll little asteroids as planets? It was a smart decision on the behalf of the astronomers, but I miss Pluto. I'm still not sure what to say about that whole ordeal.

The scientists that voted felt Pluto was too small and Pluto does not have a clear orbit.

It may not make a difference to you either way.
