My girlfriend wants to start taking some college courses in the summer and talking about maybe getting a degree. From the way I see it, I think this is unecessary because I want her to be a housewife/homemaker. Plus, by her not having a degree she will be less likely to leave me since she won't be able to make as much money on her own since she would just have homemaking skills. However, if I sent her to work and she brought home a paycheck to me that might be kind of nice because I could get a few nice things I wanted. What do you suggest I do?

Stop being so self-centered and start thinking about what she wants!

i think that if you love her you should let her do what she wants to...especially if it's college. you care about her enough to marry her, yet you want to force her to stay at home and be a housewife for you??? sorry to say, but, that sort of thing's dying out nowdays. if she loves you as much as you love her she wont leave you if she becomes succesful. you've only got one life, and if she wants to make the most of it and get a degree, i think that you should let her, no doubt about it. if you're meant to be together, then how sucessful either of you are shouldn't matter.

would you leave her because you were earning more money?
no, and i doubt that she would either. you are her boyfriend, and you should support her all the way, with anything she wants to do.

You are a jerk. Feel that bad that your girlfriend might become smarter than you? By the way we live in 2007 not the middle ages. So your money is the only reason she is staying with you that is just sad. You are so arrogant.

this is the sort of thinking that kept women slaves in their own homes for years. Get a clue, get a life, and get a girl to slap some sense into you.

I thought that you had been raised with more respect for women. Obviously I shall have to speak to your mother. If as a result of college, you find she no longer wishes to be your dish cloth, then good for her.

How could you possibly have to think about that?!
This isn't about you.
If she wants to go to college, let her!
If she knew what you were thinking, she would leave you in a second.
Or at least I would

You could do with some higher numbers in your IQ, if she asks your permission she is stupid and you deserve each other.
