Well what are you batting? You know its a game of failure. You can improve contact skills but that does not mean you will hit better. Hitting is about balance, timing, and good decisions. If your having problems making contact break down your swing... divide it into three areas... A. The load (stride foot goes out, and hands go back about 6 inches) B. Bat to the ball (hands go first keeping hands inside the ball) C. Follow through with good rotation. If there is anything in there that might be messed up, it can have an impact on your contact. I would love to suggest drills, but there is not much I can do, knowing what very little that I do know.

Reps, reps, reps... and always remember if your hitting 300 that is good enough to get you by in the big leagues...

one technique is to swing a bat at something smaller than a baseball...like a golf ball. the idea is that you are training your eye to hit something smaller than a baseball, improving your hand/eye coordination and making a baseball look a lot bigger when you see it coming in. have a friend stand a few feet away from you (out of the way of your swing) and lob a golf ball (underhanded) in the path of your swing. follow that up with some regular bp.

Practice woth a tee for a while, then do soft toss and then try to get in some cage time. Also you should make sure that the bat you are using is not to big or to small, that has a lot to do with your contact. And try to watch the ball.

listen to birdy he knows what hes talking about, break down the swing make sure your not over striding with your front foot, if your late on balls strat your swing a little earlier. you alwasy here if your in a slump start trying to hit eveything the other way, heres what i will add to birdy. step and bring your hands back some load up your like a spring, then turn your hips, make shore you keep your hands up, then throw your hands at the ball (make sure your knuckles are lined up, so ur top palm is facing the picther, i know it feels weird but do it) this will let your hands roll over after your make contatc, after making contact sqaush the bug ( so ur back foot goes up on the toes and your heal is up) practice that rememeber
1. steps and load
2. hips and throw hands at ball
3- sqaush the bus

when you start to throw your hands at the ball make shore your come straight at the ball as if your swinging down on it not upper cutting and not swinging on a level plain, if you upper cut it will result in dropping your hands which isnt good, swining down on the ball makes you drive it and remember hit the ball where its picthed, if its outside take it that way if if its on you pull it.

well the first thing u need 2 do is keep practicing. i play softball and 2 help w/ my batting i usually do a type of soft toss with whiffle balls (the ones w/ holes in them). if u need to practice on keeping ur eye on the ball i suggest practicing with the whiffle golf balls (again the ones w/ holes in them). ive been practicing w/ them for about a yr and my batting average has improved drastically. so good luck!

Look for a "Thunder Stick". It's a bat used in batting practice that's no wider in circumfirence than the handle of a standard bat. (i.e. thinner than a normal bat). It helps you focus on the ball through the zone a little longer instead of eyeing a pitch and guessing where your bat will be in the zone. Another tip is to try to pick out the spot on the logo of the bat that you hit the ball on. I used to use an Easton Black Magic, and when I'd hit the ball, my coach wante to know if the ball hit the "E", "A", "S", "T", "O", or "N".

There is a good way to do this and you need to find a wood stick about have the diameter size of the wood hang up rack in your closet and the length of a bat. then have somebody kneel to the side of you and toss wiffle golf balls. this drill helps alot with hand eye coordination
