Because other people are trying to read, or study.
It's pretty rude to hear or see people being distracting to others.

To fill up two pages, I think you will need at least 5 reasons to expound upon.
(1) Talking or noise is distracting to the other library patrons who are studying or reading there.
(2) There is limited staff in the library who are needed to assist with locating materials and helping with research. So misconduct would take time and energy of these staff to answer or resolve complaints, and thus disrupt the function of the library staff as well as the patrons.
(3) If you wish to socialize or talk, you can interact elsewhere to avoid disturbing others going to the library to study, to research, or to read. So there is no reason to socialize there as that is not the purpose of the library.
(4) If a standard of discipline were not established and enforced in the library, if people could go in there and act any way they wished, this could invite disruptive behavior that could damage the displays and public materials organized there for longterm use. So for the organization and maintenance of materials, in order to enforce an orderly environment where the materials are treated with respect, all behavior must also be orderly at the same level of respect. No running, loud or distracting talk or music, food or drinks, etc.
(5) Public safety is a related issue. Because the library is open to public access, and there are so many floors and rows of shelves where people can be hidden or get lost, it is important to keep an orderly environment at all times, so that if there is a danger or disruption this can be located and addressed right away for the safety of the other patrons. Similar to avoiding distractions for study purposes, also for safety purposes, if is better not to have chaotic behavior or unruly crowds of people in such a place, because it would not be clear if there was a problem. Again, there is not enough staff to police the premises, and orderliness makes it possible for them to maintain library services.

Library is one of the common community place where most people visit for their different objective. Study, finding, research, or looking for an book, article, or any other type of resource are some of the common activity in the library. Most library has same rules that need to be obey in order to respect every one objective. It is Unfortunates that many people are unaware of the rules and do not follow it. There are many reason people should behave in library, among three are environment, peace, and respect of library.

Shouldn't you behave everywhere? You have got it easy in my day you would have to write out " I promise to behave in the Library and I am sorry my behavior disturbed others, 200 times.
Just write about how much you love the library and all of the things you could do there and what you would miss if the privilege were taken away. If you don't mind detention you could use your two pages to state your protest to the punishment and being innocent. 2 pages easy.

Before a diver goes off the board, he or she pauses for a moment to concentrate, to focus the mind, to think about what is coming up.
A batter pauses for a moment before entering into the box, to focus, to concentrate his mind.
A trained singer pauses before he or she begins a song - to focus, to let the mind concentrate.
In any serious activity, there has to be a time of silence and concentration, if you are going to be able to focus your energy and give your best.
In the library, unlike the diving competition or the baseball field or the concert hall, the area of focus is the mind - as it prepares to meet other minds (the ones who have written the books). Whether history or language, philosophy or science, in the library you are about to enter into conversation with some of the great minds of all time.
That's not always easy - and so the library has, of necessity become a place where people go in order to focus - to concentrate.
And an essential part of that is to be free of distractions. Silence is an important part of that.
Hope that helps.

I would first define the word "behave;" secondarily, I would discuss the philosophy of having to treat a group of human beings as one entity - what about that do you understand, what do you not understand? Yes, it is unfair, but do you see that it also works to put peer pressure on each other, and establishes a behavior for the entire group? Whatever you can come up would be good. You could also do a little research of your own on the web on effective classroom discipline - be sure to cite your sources. You will come across as intelligent, thoughtful and willing to be a team player- excellent qualities in a student and future fantastic employee.

Because people come to the library to read or do work and they need silence in order to concentrate.
For example,
The library is a place that belongs to everyone. We have established basic rules of courtesy so that our library facilities are pleasant places for all to visit.
If your conduct or activities violate our rules, you will be asked to change your disruptive behavior. Failure to do so may result in the loss of library privileges, up to and including removal from the building and contacting police. The library defines "disruptive behavior" as any act that interferes with library service or with someone else´s use of the library.
Disruptive behavior includes, but is not limited to:
Possession of alcohol, illegal substances, or a weapon anywhere on library property
Abusive or harassing behavior in any form
Mutilation, defacement, or theft of library materials and equipment or the private property of staff or other visitors
Selling, polling, soliciting, panhandling, or loitering on library property
Intoxication or impairment
Sexual behavior
Sleeping in the library
Strong odors that interfere with or disrupt others from using library spaces
Use of audible sound devices that disrupt others' use of the library
Use of furniture, library equipment and facilities in a manner for which they were not intended

Ok, I think what your asking is why you should behave in the library. Just say something about how being quiet in the libraries of North America has become a social norm. People normally go there to work so...it's really just a matter of making it long. (AKA BS IT!)

It is just like stopping at a Stop sign. Whenever you stop at a stop sign you expect others to do the same. In that way. no one gets in an accident!
In the library you need to behave because you want others to behave when you are doing a serious work and could be distracted.
So, when you behave, you do your part in the community and you expect others to do theirs. Thats why we live in a society unlike wild animals.

You should behave in a library because people are trying to read, work, study, learn, etc. These things cause concentration and outside distractions are not recommended. When you are loud in a library your being rude to others and disrespectful.

Well because other people are trying to read and concentrate and you shouldn't distract them from their studies. The library is a place to be quiet is not a place to talk. One of its rules is to be quiet and it would be disrespectfull to not follow that rule.I wouldn't want to hear people talking when am reading because that causes confusion in my head trying to read. You do the rest
