So, my boyfriend's son is coming over this weekend. It's just gonna be me and him. What are some fun things that we could do at home?
We've made tshirts, model airplanes, decorations for our home.......what else could we do that is creative and free?

Oh, by the way....he's 9.

Here's a couple of ideas:

1) Take turns starting a story....then letting the other finish it. (There was a famous scene in "Out of Africa" in which Meryl Streep completed a story started by Robert Redford.) It can be alot of fun and a good way to exercise those creativity muscles.

2) In the same vein......but more visual....start a drawing (it can be as simple as a wiggly line) and let the other complete it.

3) Build a card house. Great fun to build....great fun to knock down. (Perfect for a 9 year old combination architect / godzilla wanna be.)

'Teach your children well'..........applies to every child you meet. :-)

go outside play ball with him, take him to the park, or go to the mall and buy him an ice cream, go rent movies and make cookies.. give each other fake tattoos.

hope this helps!

you could take photos...not completely free, but you could teach him how to compose a good pic, and take pictures of interesting things...from his point of view.
