the same mindset insists that the government should provide us with everything. I say keep the government out of as much as possible! Isn't that why our country was founded?

i was astounded when I read some of the answers to Hillary Clinton's health care question....so many ppl think the gov't should provide health coverage for everyone. do we really want to become a socialist country?

my husband is self-employed and we have to scrape $ to take our kids to the doctor...it just makes me mad when illegals get free medical care and we, who are citizens and pay taxes to PAY for those illegals' entitlements, have to pay HIGHER medical bills because of them. We pay our own way and it's hard. Who do you think is going to pay for "free" universal health care?

Anything outside the abstract (in other words, something tangible) that is deemed a right, has to come from somewhere. That means that another person -- just like you and I -- has to be forced to provide it to everyone else.
So if someday potatoes became a right, potato farmers would then have less rights than non-potato farming people (because we would be forcing them to provide everyone with potatoes!).
"Liberty" and the like, however, are not concretes, but abstract concepts, so they don't come from another person, and certainly not via force.
Healthcare is necessarily a concrete, not an abstract. It doesn't fall out of the sky either. So someone is going to be forced to provide it.

It's "FREE" until it has to be paid for and the government has no money left to buy ink to print the checks, then what. It will mean our country was not founded to run printing presses to pay every ones expenses. Let the government do what it does best, kill off good businesses such as telecommunications, (including Cable), trucking industry, railroads, agriculture, all those not yet scared by the hand of big government. The government ought to stay away from the borders. If it must be present, then supply drinking stations in the desert in the South West with Cell phones, Camping gear, perhaps even National Park Guides to show the way to Freedom from having to apply for citizenship. Assist with FREE entry into USofA . Give these services FREE along the Northern border, Free ferry boats along the Gulf Coast and the Great Lakes. Most important discourage the Free enterprise system, its not good to the growth of the country our Founding Fathers envisioned.

Have you ever been sick and could not afford to go to the doctor? I have. It sucked. I finally caved and went. I cost me $100 (which at the time, was two days pay) plus the price of the medication.
Voluntary operations are one thing. Necessary doctor visits are another. Besides, if people see a doctor on a regular basis they can detect possible diseases early and treat them more effectively leading to a longer, healthier life.

because starting in the 60's when johnson put the welfare bill in force .. to give free things to people ..and yes poor people,,, the main thing behind this was for the democrats to get votes...
now we have a society that knows nothing but welfare,, no work , and why should ,, welfare is find for anyone who needs it. but we have created a society of lazy peolpe who has no idea what it neans to work..
i am a firm beliver that we all should give a helping hand,,,not a handout...
this is also a big part of why we are haveing so much violence in this country today,,, street corner gangs,,, drugs everywhere you turn, guns ...
we help create it, now we gripe about it ...
in my mind the biggest culpert in this whole mess is politics,,, all for a vote.

What would you rather have. Free universal heath care for Americans or Americans paying for free universal health care for Iraqis and building mosques for Iraqis (as we are doing now)
Myself i think both are a crock of crap.

it's not free. nothing is. some where down the line you are gonna pay.my health insurance is extremely high, but i have to have it. with "free insurance" your taxes would be through the roof. i think we working people in the u.s. pay for enough free things now!!!!!!
