Because too many people are ME oriented and don't want to work on their problems. A marriage, to be successful and endure, takes a lot of work. No two people think alike or like all the same things. Too many people just don't want to give in or compromise and a good marriage is always a compromise. The people who have successful marriages are usually people oriented. They know how to listen and how to work out differences with others in ways that don't lead to fights.

I think it because they don't consider marriage as a commitment they just take it as a game to see who can marry more times in a year.
or
This happens because some people in their first or second date just happen to get marry without trying to know each other better and that is a big problem because in the long run they have to divorce cause they don't understand each other so how they can live together?

I don't have any statistics, but I do know that as our country becomes more and more materialistic, we're slowly losing our ability to maintain relationships. We're so focused on having an expensive house, two cars, and high-paying jobs that we've sacrificed the things that are really important.
It is NOT, however, because of liberals, or the "fall" of Christianity, or abortion, or gays, or any other nonsense spread by the fundamentalists.

because america is different from the rest of the world in almost every way possible. look at hollywood, people are nothing like that in the rest of the world, we are just too rich and privileged, compared with the world. everything is easy for us, marry, divorce, then marry again, but in other countries, you have to stay married or else you might het hanged or killed. and don't you see the drinking law in CA, 21 or up is legal, but in france it's 15 and up....you know why? cuz people over there drink as a part of their meal and for the taste, but over here we get drunk and wild. only country who does this so often...oh well deal with it i guess.

Well the fact is that people are too sexually active and get bored being with the same person every day and try to find new experiences specially guys. O and another thing alot of people get married real young and never enjoy themselves while they can so they get bored after a while and want to be free again.

facts from my neck of woods-a co-worker finalized his divorce after his wife cheated on him 2nd time in November
my other co-worker found out his wife filed for divorce today, and he followed suit this afternoon, she was tired of him and he got fat
I almost filed for divorce recently due to spouse and her trust issues, or unwillingness to forgive and get over jealousy and suspicions
opinions- I think it takes 2 to dance/tango. if for some reason it's time to move on and the reason people married is gone, we should be free to move on so long as we make sure to minimize damage. I feel no one should be forced to live against one's will with another if abuse or unlove exists
statistically, I think the US has a 65% divorce rate and early on in first 5 years
So I'm doing ok at 9

Because unfortunately in our country, people don't take marriage serious. They know if it doesn't work out, they can walk. I also think our country lacks lots of morels. People think nothing of cheating and sneaking around on their mate. They think even if no one were to find out they were cheating, no one gets hurt. They don't get that actually you hurt yourself and betray yourself with this behavior. Alot of people lack respect for themselves and others. Integrity is a very important trait that alot of people lack.

B/c they don't have what it takes to tuff out the marriage. Also if they get married too early in life, then they will figure out that aren't grown up yet and they want to have freedom with no strings attached.

Because it's too easy to get married and divorced. Marriage is getting to be treated almost like dating.
