There are many different formulas for 3 dimensional objects like cylinders, cubes, etc. Here's a site that should help you out. It has all the fomulas you might need.

Only if it is a rectangular shaped prism (what we generally call a box)

In general, the area of any 3D object that goes straight up is :

Volume = Area of base X height

Therefore, a cylinder has a Volume of V = (3.14r^2)(h)
A tent would have a volume of V = (1/2bh)(height)

There are many other variations.

If it's a six-sided object and all the sides are rectangles, then yes.
