determine the better buy ....

8.2 oz of toothpaste for $2.99 or 6.4 oz toothpaste for $2.49 ????

8.2 oz of toothpaste for $2.99. This leads to;
1 oz of this tooth paste costs =$ 0.36463 =36.46 c
6.4 oz toothpaste for $2.49. This leads to;
1 oz of this tooth paste costs =$ 0.38906=38.91c
So ,clearly, the first buy is better.

Clearly the 8.2 oz toothpaste but you may need to spend extra money on remedial math classes taking your total to $202.99 and then some FocusSmart from the pharmacy taking the grand total to $222.99 and the confidence to buy toothpaste like a pro! have fun

Go for the 8.2 oz toothpaste. You save a little bit.

The first one because when you divide $2.99 by 8.2 and $2.49 by 6.4 the first one has a smaller amount.

Best buy will be when you pay the least per ounce:
$2.99/8.2 oz = $0.36/oz
$2.49/6.4 oz = $0.38/oz
One is better by 2 cents

The 6.4 is the better buy

Just divide the oz. by the price. Not too hard.
