When a vehicle is cold that is very common but should stop when the vehicle has had time to warm up. If the head gasket is blown you would have smoke from under the hood. Not necessarily a lot of smoke maybe even not noticeable. The motor would smell burnt when you immediately turn the vehicle off and sooner before later your motor will lock up and your car will shut off leaving you wherever that may be at the time. Overheating is a very good sign. Be smart and look for signs other than the obvious. Vibrations, hard to manuveur, smoke under hood, odd smell under hood..etc. If the smoke doesn't go away in about 20-30 minutes (after the car has been started) then you should go to a mechanic and have it checked just to be safe.

what makes you think you have a blown head gasket?
Constant overheating can cause a blown head gasket, and i'll tell you right now, white smoke is not a good sign..
I think you have a problem
Is there any smell with the smoke.
How excessive is it?
whats your temp sensor reading?
to many questions involved to go by what any of these guys are saying on here. Get it diagnosed, thats hsould be like 50 bucs, then you'll know.

Yes if the atmosphere out side is cold IE winter the exhaust fumes will be more like a white smoke and because of exhaust temp it will be moist.
If your head is blown excuse the phrase the car will just not run proper and you will see alot of things going on like engine lights look at the radiator cap and if it has a white gunge round it then the gasket has gone also fumes will smell like eggs(Poo) etc.
So no need to worry.I do the same myself in the cold and think hmmm that's a lot of smoke but its like breathing in summer you dont see breath but in cold it looks like every one is on 20 ciggies a day.

it will do that in cold weather because of the condensation buildup in the pipe........but if it is over heating u got a problem,,,,,,,,for instance head gasket or could be a cracked head,,,,,,,,,,,as far as the white smoke goes it shouldnt do it all the time just when u start it up and then maybe 1 hr afterwords

This is a normal condition in cool/cold weather. Take off your radiator cap (while engine is cold) and start engine. Wait a few moments and check to see if any bubbles are coming up through the radiator tank. If you are not losing any coolant, no indications of oil in the coolant or tale-tell bubbles and no miss in the engine then you are probably in good shape. Have a compression test done if you are really concerned.

No, that is normal when it is like 30 degrees and colder. But if it is 60 out and white smoke is pouring out the tailpipe and your coolant level goes low and your car overheats, then this is a blown head gasket. As long as your car dosent use coolant and overheat it is fine.
