Well, for one thing the blu-ray drive in the PS3 lack many features that a stand alone player has and it's not a very good player at all. You also need to remember that Sony lost a lot of money on every console it sold, around $250-$300.

Because the Blu-ray player in the PS3 isn't exactly top notch. It's much more inferior than a standard Blu-ray player. Remember how the PS2 was supposed to be a DVD player, but the movies didn't exactly come out all that great, and the PS2 was prone to breakdown because of the constant forward/rewind of movies? Same thing with the PS3.

Thats a good question. I wondered that myself. The player on the PS3 is not as top notch as others on the market. Sure, it works and if you're not too techie on specs and such it'll do the deed. Other electronic fans would want something much stronger.

i LOVE it...
you see movies/games really good if you ahve the right tv thign..
also you need to buy good games not bad ones that look bad.....
you can go on internet like websites..
pretty cooll..
ok going off topic now..
^^ proberly cuz people dont wanna buy a a ps3 and they just want the player...
so it wud cost more :]

yea but most adults that watch blu ray dvd's dont play games and dont really care hoe teh graphics are...so thhey buy teh other stuff tahts out for blu ray
