Not sure if you're looking for choir, band, opera, etc. Community choirs usually post for auditions in the newspaper, bands may do this as well. If you live near a university (w/music dept.) or conservatory, they usually have posters for upcoming (professional) auditions, or possibly band auditions. You can search online for groups you may be interested in; sometimes they post upcoming auditions on their Website. You can also join the local Musician's Union (there are gigs open only to local members), or start taking lessons with a relatively prominent teacher (who is in the know, produces solid students, and someone may offer a gig though the teacher).

Wow, I feel bad for you. People can't even spell internet anymore. Really sad, anyways.... I would suggest checking on the internet or perhaps at a preforming arts center, maybe even some local schools or libraries.
