This is not intended as criticism of the younger generations. Being in my early thirties, I'm still within that range myself. However, I do believe younger generations of gays take their freedom of expression and visibility for granted.
I say that because the younger set has never known the persecution the older generations knew and fought against. It's normal, and even expected, to take something for granted when you never had to fight for it. The younger generations weren't around for the Stonewall riots and prior to that, when police would regularly raid gay bars and clubs and arrest partons simply for being there.
The older generations are the ones who really broke through the toughest obstacles and cleared a path for generations to follow. The gay community today continues to widen that path, fighting for equality in all aspects of society, but the younger set could not possibly comprehend what it was like to live with the fear and persecution the older generations had to contend with.

There is an expression that is used not just by the young, but by many, that for some reason just annoys the heck out of me. I wish the expression 24/7 would go!

Somewhat. I think there's this weird paradox where people don't realize how bad things were before, but at the same time don't realize how bad things still are. It's like things are better enough for people to be complacent about the problems that still exist.

uh, don't think so....! We should all have the freedom to be who we are without be judged or condemned. I have a feeling that isn't the answer you wanted, though.
