Radical Islam did NOT become a globel force until 1979 when they got control of Iran. Thanks to the help of Carter due to "human rights" abuses. The radical ideology was kept surpressed by many moderate Muslims before Carter took support away and allowed Iran to becaome a model of radical Islam. Our foriegn policy is NOT to blame. We support Israel and have fought along side muslims in the past in the 1980's. After the cold war many of the Muslim fighter went back home and fought the near enemy which was thier own government. But changed strategy to fight the far enemy which is America. The muslims thought we were weak and would give up easily like in Vietnam and Mogadishu. Well Bin Laden was right. In 1993 the WTC was bombed and Clinton did little. In 1998 al-Qaida bombed 3 U.S. bases 2 in Africa 1 in Saudi Arabia. Clinton responded with perfunctory strikes and did no real harm. It strengthened the perception of Americas ineptitude. In 2000 the Cole was bombed. Clinton did nothing.

Bin Laden conluded the his suspicion of American pusillanimty and weakness was correct. How is it that Clinton couldn't find Bin Landin but Robert Fisk 1996, Peter Arnett of CNN 1997, John Miller ABC 1998...could get interview but Bill Clinton and the CIA couldn't find him.

Your notion that radical Islam is solely to be blamed on Liberal/Democrats is laughable at best. I think Islam has been around for alot longer than the US has existed. The Shah of Iran was a close Allie of the US for many years, through many different administrations. It just didn't pop up on the front page of world wide newspapers back in 1979 as you indicate. The people and students in Iran were frustrated with the westernization of their country and started to demonstrate against the shah. Then they stormed the US embassy and took hostages for 444 days. Until the day Ronald Reagan took the oath of office. Which I'm sure I don't need to remind anyone he was a conservative president. And isn't it ironic that when Russia invaded Afghanistan, that administration supported them to force out soviet troops. Where by the way, Bin-Laden and his followers are suppose to be currently hiding out. And are probably using our own weapons against our troops right now. It's not nearly a simple as you would be trying to make it sound.

I see, so even though Reagan and Bush 41 were Presidents in the 80's, the rise of radical Islam is some how all Clinton's fault? Ever heard of Iran Contra buddy? Perhaps you should look it up.

You have some gall to bring up Osama. What did Bush say again? Oh yeah, wanted dead or alive, lmfao.

Because there is no valid point in that drivel. Radical Islam didn't' come to Our attention until then perhaps, but it has been around since the start of the religion. Same with Radical Christianity, come to think of it. Do your research next time. the history of the US is not a history of the entire world. We are only one country out of many. There are 6+ billion people in the world. We have all of 300,000. China and India both have billion. Think about that. We are only a small part of the earth- our history is not going to encompass everything.

Today, Carter and his library is supported by contributions from many in the Arab world and he is now being caught referring to the holocaust in WW II as the "so-called" holocaust. He is clearly going astray.

In fact, many people are resigning from their jobs with him in disgust over his current positions and his latest book, "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid".

Also, in your additional information when you posted your question, you asked why Clinton couldn't find Bin Laden. Well, if you recall, the Sudan offered Bin Laden to Clinton a couple times and our illustrious president turned them down. He didn't have to go find him, they'd give him up on a silver platter!!

I agree with you. The war on terror today is a direct legacy from the Clinton and Carter years. In fact, it was Carter's failed presidency that spawned our current war and proved to the terrorists that the liberal left in our country will run in defeat thus emboldening them.

It took a mere 20 hours into President Reagan's administration for Iran to let the hostages go because they knew Reagan would come after them with guns blazing.

Good question.

How about if our government stopped worrying about the rest of the world and worry only about the USA? Then maybe the other countries would leave us alone. It's about time we stopped trying To be the worlds police force. We can't take care of our own problems . Where does this country get of telling other countries what to do!!

Because it is always someone else's fault. It's called the liberal shuffle and it is only gonna get worse... Watch the pendulum swing back the Republican way when they destroy Congress.
It should be interesting.
