He has had this problem for about 4 years...ever since he found out he was diabetic type 2.The doc's keep telling him that it isnt caused from the diabetes, but in the meantime he still spinning his wheels trying to get from point a to b.He has fun trying though. Is there anyone out there who has experienced this dilema and can offer advice?

type 2 diabetes CAN contribute to ED. i know from first hand experience. your friend needs to find an endrocinologist and a urologist who is willing to work with him to solve this problem. if the first doctor doesn't put any stock into his reason for ed, it's time to move on to another doctor.
other contributing factors that impact ed are:
hypertension
performance anxiety
smoking
excess drinking
street drugs including marijuana
certain prescription medicines
a good doctor will listen to your friend, take a history, and order testing to come to some conclusion about his ed. don't let him give up hope.
there are all sorts of helpful aids available. the important thing is:
WE'RE LIVING IN 2007. YOUR FRIEND DESERVES THE RIGHT TO ENGAGE IN AN ACTIVE SEXUAL LIFESTYLE. ANYTHING SHORT OF THIS; SHAME ON HIS PREVIOUS DOCTOR(S).

Speaking from personal experience it is difficult to reach orgasm if you are thinking about it too much. Your friend should try to not worry about having the big O and chances are, when the time is right and your having fun it will happen. Some medications have side effects that can lead to this sort of problem also.

I think he is just thinking about it too hard. To experience orgasm you have 2 be relaxed and comfortable ;-) i dont think it's type 2 diabetes

sometimes diabetics get neuropathy, which may result in numbness- it usually affects fingers and toes, but it is possible that he's got a numb phallus, which may affect his ability to acheive his stated goal. even so, it shouldn't be impossible. damn, if there's one part of my body i wouldn't want to be numb, that would be it!
