What do you mean by speech delay and how old is he? When my oldest daughter was 2 1/2, we took her to a speech therapist after talking to her pediatrician about her not talking much. She would say just a few words and short sentences such as" I want cookie" or "I hungry" and she wouldn't say them very much. After seeing the therapist for about a year or year 1/2, she was talking much more & making longer sentences. She is now 19 and doing very well, she still doesn't talk a whole lot but it is because she is a quiet, shy person. But if she knows you pretty well, she can talk your ear off!
So I advise that your parents talk to his pediatrition about him possibly seeing a speech therapist.
Hope this helps and best of luck to you & him.
