I have had a financial company calling me concerning a neighbor that owes them money. She is not a relative, nor do I know her that well. Is this legal?? She has been a good neighbor for about 5 years and I do know she draws SSI disability and is on a tight budget. I told her once before that this company was calling me in order to find her, but she said she has not received any mail correspondance from any companies and does not know who it is calling me. If this is not legal practice is there anything either she or I can do? I don't want to get in the middle of someone elses financial difficulties, but I don't feel it is right for a company to contact me about another person.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this!

Contacting you is legal, but you're not obligated to answer their questions unless they can show you a subpoena.
