that's pretty natural.... psycholgoically people feel more comfortable with people who are similar to them.... its probably not becuase they are the same race as you but becuase you are from teh same socioeconomic backround and have had similar expe4riences. You caan hang out with whoevery ou want as long as you don't purposely not hang out with people becuase of their race... i have freidns of all different races bc we have similar interests althoguh a lot of my close friends just happen to be white and jewish becuase they are who live in my community and who I went to school with... i do have black and hispanic and asian friends that Imet from school and summer programs and if we have similar experiences then we are friends

I live in Brampton, a multicultural city. Generally you're going to be more comfortable with those who can relate the most with, be that a black person, hispanic, white, whatever. It's a person's personality, not their colour. I hang out with alot of different people. its your mindset.

well I love variety. I think that unconscious you feel inferior or you think they are inferior to you(whites). try to find a common ground in ALL the ppl you meet. if not try to understand their point. I do not find anything in common with black Americans, if you ask me some of the racist stereotypes suit most of the race. However, this does not stop me from befriend some of them, I like to explore other ppls point of view. am 25 and I've been in this country for 10 yrs. and I can say that am so glad and thank full for meeting ppl of all colors and backgrounds. I have learn bits and pieces about my self through them, and I learned to embrace our differences as well.

I feel more myself when I am hanging out with my black friends, but when I am hanging out with my white friends I guard what I say more. Then again when I am with my family I feel comfortable, as opposed to my friends. I don't think it is often time about color though. I have a very good white friend and I feel closer to her than anybody except my Grandmother whom has known me all my life. It really just depends on who you let into your personal life. No one can force themselves into your life unless you let them.

I don't know that race matters, but I think being around people with similar experiences and backgrounds is more comfortable for all of us.

I hang with those that I get along with; no matter their race or gender or creed. I feel comfortable with people who want to get along in life.

well ,yeah. i do. today, I was looking for somebody to hang out with after school and their was a whole bunch of black kids. (I don't care if the are black by the way) but I saw people starring and somebody asked me, Why can't you hang out with people of your color. So, I just said, because they are my friends, and I don't care.

I look at it as a cultural preference rather than a racial one. Yes, I relate better to some cultures more than others just like you do. It all boils down to the individual for me though.
