In the USA if you want to be a physician, you must first complete a Bachelor's degree at a four year university. Then you must apply to medical school and study for four years to earn a Doctor of Medicine M.D. degree.

It does not really matter exactly which major you complete in your Bachelor's degree - as long as you take the courses which are required by the Medical School for applicants. That would usually be chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics, calculus and a few others. Most medical school students probably majored in chemistry or biology but some major in psychology, sociology, even business or philosophy.

Entrance to medical schools is very competitive so you need to have a 3.5 (out of 4) or better average in your science courses to be able to apply.

UC (University of California) schools don't have a "doctor" major. It's rare enough to find a pre-med major in a school in the US, but I'm pretty certain all the UCs don't have a "pre-med" major.

Med schools don't care what your major is in undergrad anyways. They just want to see you fulfill their course requirements (look at each med school's website to see what classes they want), and have a strong base in science.

If you want to become a medical doctor, you should go to a college with a pre-med major. Otherwise, a lot of people major in biology before applying to med school.
