Is there still a chance that a kid can go pro if he's a freshman that goes to a division 2 highschool and...
and... only made the freshman team but is determined to work his a$$ of for the rest of his highschool carreer(meaning hours a day in the off season) to play varsity as a sophmore and get recognized by good colleges. Do you have to make varsity as a freshmen if u have a chance of going pro?

Well, Michael Jordan was cut from his varsity high school team as a sophomore, and he became arguably the greatest basketball player ever. So not everybody that's made it to the NBA started varsity as a freshman in high school.
Some advice though; try not to let basketball become the most important thing in your life. There are other more important things. But work hard, and try to have fun with it!

A lot of people don't understand what Division I, II, III, etc mean. All that means is the size of your school. A division IIII high school team could easily beat a Division I high school team. Its just a matter of how good the players are on each team. That being said, you by no means have to go to A D1 Highschool, to get a scholarship to a D1 college and go pro. But yes if you devote your life to basketball, you have a chance.

i go to a division 1 highschool and ppl say that i should go out for the team and i am a sophomore when i go out for the team i will be a junior.and i will start on JV maybe even Varsity.it just depends on if u give up on the field.it doesn't matter as much what u do off the field as what happens on the field.Always Remember this Pain is just weakness leaving the body.

But yea i think that you could go pro.
