suspect lockup clutch torque converter solenoid problems these used to occur quite frequently. here is the fix : remove cover at left end of transmission remove electrical quick disconnect and the plastic case fitting and remove wires with a pick tool then remove old solenoid and replace with updated part noting the new part has a slightly different wire routing, reassemble using a new gasket note this job normally took about 20 minutes but paid about an hour and in all probability you should service the fluid and filter at this time too. if you are uncomfortable with proceedure take to your trusted mechanic as the parts are approx 50 dollars retail and only 1 hr. of labor good luck

First, Its an older GM that needs a tune up and also, probably and ECM. Junk the car. The repairs to get it running right are over $1500

Check your alternator, it may be going bad. Then move on to the bigger diagnostic. But stalling is a common problem with a bad alternator.
