Does anyone know a good site(s) where I can learn some issues about politics? I know nothing about them really.

The reason I ask is because my boyfriend is really into politics and I would like to learn more.... I would like to be able to talk to him about some stuff and have a basic understanding before I go and talk to him about.

Any suggestions???

Smart girl. Just punch in politics or learn about politics or something like that and you should come up with a few web sites. There are also many good books on politics in your local library. Also read the websites of your state politicians as well as those in Washington. Learn the issues as they see them. Tune in on other states and learn their issues. If you keep this up for about 3-4 months you will know more than your boy friend. Also watch Fox News and CNN.

Try your local political websites - Conservative or Labour, or Republican and Democrat depending on where you live - apart from that it is just the news! (and where you personally stand on any issue) - it really is about your opinion depending on the facts.

If you want information then listen to the news but more than one website / TV station - reuters, bbc, cnn, and all the others - the point is you must look at what they say and decide what you believe, and what is propaganda, and what is slanted a particular way. Then decide what you think yourself. I hope that helps.

Have fun!

A great news letter is called the patriot. You can subscribe to it for free and will give you great insight by giving you the facts on what's going on.

My suggestion is to just go to any news site: cnn.com, msnbc.com and click on the "politics" tab. Read those articles every day.

Conservative Republicans lower taxes and are anti-gay/anti-baby killing. They believe in national security and are willing to stand up to threats to our country

Liberal Democrats have few ideas of their own, and instead resort to Bushbashing and not coming up with fixes for the "problems." They believe in handing out welfare to people who don't deserve it, and think that global warming is a bigger threat than terrorists that want to blow our brains out.
