I agree 100%
Like a big dope, i was upset my "decorative" fireplace, didnt really throw off enough heat to heat even the living room.....
so i loaded it with particle board, old painted trim, etc....
The flames got out of hand...there was flames shooting out of the chimeny....i shut the glass doors to try to stop the flames, but something popped, and busted the doors right off...
Fortunately my homeowners insurance says i have to have fire extinguishers, so i emptied all three of them out, and the fire eventually died down....
Frankly, I hate having small "decorative" fireplaces...unless you have a big, honking fireplace that really works to heat the room, its just an annoyance that limits your options in where to put the couch

Do u not care about the environment?? As long as it is not painted, stained, or glued (like particle board) it is safe to burn. If u burn this, not only does it stink, it is also harmful to the environment we live in, or at best, our children!!!! Do your part and don't burn stuff that contains the preceding crap.
It burns too hot for a fireplace so just don't do it.

a piece here and there isn't too bad, but I wouldn't use much of it due to the glue used to keep it together. Besides particle board doesn't burn that well

No its not, too much adhesive. Using a small amount to get a fire going would be fine.

This stuff would burn to fast anyway.

I agree...don't burn it...all those chemicals in that wood may stick to the inside of your chimney....and would have to be cleaned out.

if it dosen't have chemicals spilled on it, it can't hurt, besides plywood burns hot and fast

I don't know, but I have wondered if it's ok to tightly wrap and tie into "logs" all this annoying junk mail and burn it.
