I just quit my job of three years to move onto a bigger, better position with another company, and I feel depressed about it. Is this normal?

I like my current (now former) job, but the new job is a similar position in a larger company with 30% more $$$, more paid vacation, and other good things. I am really excited about the new position.

It's a positive thing all the way around, but I feel like I am letting my current crew down, because things will crumble pretty quick once I am gone.

On a side note: I work in management, and quite a few guys from the crew want to come work for me at the new company. Is it considered OK to hook up my crew in the new company (with corporate blessing, of course) if I can get them a better deal than they currently have?

Don't be depressed. Look at it as a new opportunity to achieve more. The only limits are the ones that you set. Don't worry about the old company, you have to look out for your best interest in the long run. If the old company was so great, why didn't they pay more and have better benefits. Be careful about hiring your old work mates. If you hire them, you answer for their achievements as well as their shortcomings. Don't let your friendship with them ruin your career.
