I believe he should. The heisman trophy is given to a player who is in good standing with the NCAA also. And well, as of now, Reggie Bush was not in good standing with the NCAA. He knew all the rules when he came to play for USC. He is the one who accepted the scholarship and accepted the money that is clearly stated in the NCAA rulebooks. It's not a matter of how talented you are or aren't. It's a matter of following rules as an amatuer sports player. He wasn't pro, and well, that means he is not allowed endorsements or money. It's all his problem. He was a great college player and may turn into a decent NFL player, however, rules are easy to follow. He should of followed them.

"The football player who intentionally violates a rule is guilty of unfair play and unsportsmanlike conduct; and whether or not he escapes being penalized, he brings discredit to the good name of the game, which is his duty as a player to uphold." -NCAA Rules Committee of 2006

If I were to play DIV-1 football, and I were to accept any benefits I wasn't allowed to because of the rules, I would be breaking the spirit of the game.

The big issue with this is that if someone had lured Reggie Bush to USC with these benefits, then it's a question of what could have been. There are plenty of colleges that could throw around money to try and bring in the best players possible, but the reason that the NCAA wants money to be out of the picture is so that a school's program is built by reputation, not by the all mighty dollar. Reggie Bush could have gone to any number of colleges, and if he hadn't been lured to USC, where would he have been? If there was no money or incentives involved, would USC still have won two championships? This is the NCAA's attempt at parity, and I believe it is the only fair way to do it. Players should choose where to go by pride, the school's reputation, the coach's reputation, college courses available, graduation rates, etc... If you throw money in there, players seem to give up on worrying about education, which IS the reason that they should be in college. Not to play football. To better their lives through education, but if they're already going to get paid in college for playing, might as well not try so hard to get a good education... Kinda see my point?

Now, for the answer to the question: Will the NCAA take away his Heisman Trophy? I believe the answer is no, though they SHOULD take it away. The NCAA is too "chicken" to do that. What I DO see happening though is that USC's championships will be stripped and they will be sanctioned for 4 or 5 years.

in case you're denying the reality there is no evidence that he took funds you ought to truly step back and take a check out the situation. because of the fact the NCAA does no longer have wrecked that software like they did in the event that they did no longer have compelling evidence. to no longer point out the undeniable fact that USC is well-known with it because of the fact they are no longer attempting to do something approximately it. They knew they broke the regulations and that they comprehend they snarled. he's getting his Heisman taken away because of the fact he became ineligible for all those video games that he performed in and therefor something he did that 365 days became in reality pushed off the table. USC is dropping those scholarships no longer the toddlers. It became there very own failure to maintain a dazzling software and therefor they are being punished as such. the toddlers that are on scholarship don't get them taken away. It purely limits here few years they are in a position to recruit.
