It all depends on exactly what's wrong with it of course. Without further details we can't give an estimate.

However, the cost of LCD monitors has come down drastically lately so most of the time it is cheaper to buy a new one than to try to fix it. By the time you add labor costs in along with parts you might as well get a new one.

Well that depends on how broken it really is and how machanically incline YOU are.

If you have ruled out the power source is bad, and the button is good. You 1st need to check some basic items.

1. Do you get a green or amber light? yes ok good

2. can you see a screen but it's not bright? yes ok great

This means that the back light is not working, and can be easily replaced. I try to find the part on ebay first. I do a search for and "inverter" and the model of my lcd.

after I get the right part; I open the lcd and look for that part, replace and 98% of the time that's it. Other then that I would replace the entire LCD, last resort.
