Do you feel sorry for President Carter because his feelings were hurt over the criticism of his book?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,245920,00.html

No CNN stories pointed out how hurt President Carter was, but does have a story about the criticism...http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/01/11/carter.resignations/index.html

President Carter was quoted as saying "This is the first time that I've ever been called a liar and a bigot and an anti-Semite and a coward and a plagiarist. This has hurt me."

Weren't some of these terms (liar, bigot, coward) used toward President G. W. Bush?

Do you feel sorry for President Bush too? Don't you think it hurts his and his families feelings? Or does it not matter, because he's a Republican and in an unpopular war with Iraq?

Honorable Man??? A man who tanked the ES economy, cut off military spending, caused the oil embargo, highest unemployment rates since the depression, highest tax rates in history, highest interest rates, and let us not forget, allowing US hostages who languished in an Iranian prison for over 450 days, while he was more concerned with his ill fated re-election.

This was not, is not, and never be an honorable man. His work with habitat for humanity is only his way of coming to grips with his failures, and trying to atone for his shortfalls.

Now, he sides with Islamic extremists, and is pretty much calling for the destruction of Israel. He's also lying about every facet of his failed presidency in a vain attempt to rewrite history. He forgot that his closest advisers are still alive, and have called him on it.

He at one time, had the chance to be recognized as an 'elder statesman', but like everything else he touches, he has blow that too.

All I have to say is thank God for giving us Ronald W. Reagan. How anyone can look at their respective terms and even call Jimmy Carter a President.

I don't feel sorry for either one of them. Jimmy Carter wrote his book and "put it out there" so he has to be able to accept the flack that comes along with it. Same goes for the President. He made his decisions and his policies and has to accept consequences positive and negative.

Yes I feel sorry that his feelings were hurt.

President Carter is a nice man that meant well with his book. He has since apologized if any of his statements offended anyone because he is an honorable man that has no desire to hurt anyone.

It hurt his feelings because he never expected any criticism.

I don't feel sorry for him at all.

He's been out of office for 26 years, and needs to stick to Habitat For Humanity and stay out of other countries' affairs.

I don't think so since the book is full of facts....Don't read it like I didn't read Ann Coulters trash.
