You'll of course get the most for them if your dead first. To make some decent money while your still kickin it about, have a gallery showing...Check to see if you have a local arts club to help you with this. If your a shy type...there is always ebay, but you'll be lucky to recover framing costs. Last resort for quick cash and not much I add, there is the garage sale circuit.

See you at the louve soon!

You may want to try card & gift shops, coffee shops and galleries. One thing to remember: any time you display your work make sure you have good information about yourself visible - contact info, artist statement and biography - for customers to read and take with them. Once you place them in a selling venue contact your local newspaper and let them know. They will most likely write a free announcement for you. You may benefit from reaading a book wriiten to help artists with these questions called - Making It As An Artist- by professional artist JoAnn DePolo...learn from those who have already achieved success in that area. Have fun...hope this helps. Good Luck!

If you are the artist, you can exhibit your work in art shows or arts and craft shows. Put a fair price on your paintings and work on a painting at the show. People love to watch an artist at work and will gather around you. The longer you have their attention, the more likely they will buy or want you to paint their portrait.

You could take them to your local art dealer, they of course are going to take a commission off the top of the sale. You could always sell them on line, like on eBay or another site of it's kind. You could always have people contact you directly, you would probably want to have a web page of some kind (such as myspace or yahoo 360) to advertise your pieces.
