I don't think age has anything to do with it, as long as both parents are over the age of 18!

It's about maturity and being ready physically, emotionally and financially!

If you truely are ready to devote your love and time and money to a child, then by all means.

If not...then maybe 23 isn't the right age for you!

Good luck!

I am also 23 and would love to have children, but I have decided to wait a few years before I become a mother. Some women have their kids when they're younger than 23 and are excellent mothers. My mom was one of them having me while she was in college. She was the one who convinced me to take my time and do other things before settling down. Once you have children it becomes a lot harder to do things for yourself and you may come to regret that someday. If you really want to be a mom now make sure you're emotionally and financially ready for what's ahead. There is no guarantee the baby will be 100% healthy and this is something else to take into account. Are you ready for the doctor's bills, diapers, and the expenses that come with a new baby? Are you prepared to sacrifice the majority of your time and be a committed parent? I wish you luck in this decision. I know these are not easy questions and I wrestle with them myself.

i think so i am 17 and have 2.but 23 i good b/c your outta school, you can keep up with them and not tire easily, and most likely fairly healthy. as long as you can take care of them mentally, physically, and financially i don't think you have any thing to worry about. even at 17 i love being a mommy but very few people in this crazy world can do such a thing. and i even graduated and am in college, their daddy is an enormous help. it helps so much when the daddy is involved.

i got pregnant at 22 and had my daughter at 23 and NO I WASNT married....being married has nothing to do with it....if you are mature enough, and financially stable and can care for a child i think that as long as you want to have one...then any age is good, that is of course if you are over 18 because if you are a teen that is just to hard......there is nothing wrong with being a single mom.....and to all of those people above me who made it sound like it was a sin to have sex before marriage and to have a child without a husband can just bite me!!!!

You should probably learn to write before having kids...

Sorry, I'm joking, shouldn't've gone there...

Anyways, if you can financially and emotionally support the child, go for it, but I would say that 23 is about 10 years too early. Up to you, though.

You should have kids when you and your spouse are ready to have them. Make sure your financially established (established in your career, have a house, basically be very stable). You don't have to have kids early because there is some kind of rush.

It depends on your own maturity, and your partners maturity. 19 is old enough for some people, and some people are never old enough... you really have to rely on your own judgment.
