Hey, I'm almost 19 weeks and I don't get to find out the sex of the baby at the ultrasound sadly. I would find out of I could, but anyway, I'm doing my nursery in Bambi. It's unisex and yellow and green can be used as a boy or a gril theme. It has been hard to find things for it, but any kind of disney theme is suitable.
Congrats!

The safari theme is very, very trendy right now. That is good because you'll be able to find stuff easily. It is bad because your nursery will not be very unique.
What we did for my first was to go with primary colors. We decorated in the nursery in blues, reds, yellows and greens. We used the handprint theme. I found some border to put on the walls of kids' handprints that looked like they had been dipped in paint--all the primary colors. My mom found matching material and made us the bedding, diaper holder, etc. We were able to find storage bins and plastic shelves that were all done in the primary colors. I liked doing it this way because it works for either a boy or a girl and it is a theme that can grow with the child for awhile. As my son got older we were able to leave the majority of his room as it was. Eventually I took down the handprints and we found a transportation theme all done in primary colors. But we didn't have to change too much as he got older.

Baby's-r-us has some really cute nursery sets, and a lot of them work great for boys are girls.
The biggest way you can decorate if you don't want to paint would be looking for pictures. Ebay or Allposters.com would probably have a lot of stuff to look through. You could do a "baby animal theme" and find tons of great pics to put up, and as your little one got older he'd love to point out the animals and learn what they are.
Congrats and good luck on figuring out what to do =) Hope I helped a bit.

My niece is 9. She says her favorite colour is blue and that most of her girl friends agree. Right now with blue being the new "pink" you are safe to get away with surrounding the nursery a happy shade of blue.
My guess, the most important question is how to have a happy home for the kid. Obviously you want the baby and are happy either way so your off to a good start.

You could use something thats kinda unisex like winnie the pooh. You can buy wall stickies that stick and come off without any problems, they dont wreck the walls or anything. You could also buy bedding that is unisex. it is hard. We just painted our nursry green and yellow, and we are going to have a tinkerbell room if its a girl, and no idea if its a boy. Good Luck

Stay with neutral colors like green, yellow, beige, or primary colors are always good. I used primary colors for my little girl and now I'm using them for my little boy (on the way in just 2-3 weeks). I'm glad I bought all neutral colors. It makes things so much easier and I've not had to buy a whole lot of things for the one on the way. It's great for saving money.

Pick a theme that has lots of colors and isn't gender specific. Something like Winnie the Pooh, a Disney movie, or animals are just some ideas.

*lol* My nursery still has the guitars on the wall as it used to be the studio and the basement isn't done.
Disney themes can be nice and you can get the peel and stick characters that are supposed to not take the paint off at the dollar store.
World maps are nice too.

Buy lots of white. You can always add colorful pink or blue after the baby comes. Start out w/ a bassinet and get crib set later. White looks clean and classic!!! Pick out what you like for boy vs. girl , so after baby comes you can just go get it. Or send daddy!!

Greens and yellows are pretty gender neutral. Lots of bedding comes in these colors. Bears are pretty gender neutral too. So are fish/ocean themes.
Congratulations!!!
