his feelings will always be hurt. if it is his fault you are ending he'll understand and move on. if you cheated on him and have mixed feelings of love it wont be easy. just dont say its not you its me. if you leave him for another guy prepare to hear a never ending chat. it will always hurt. as long as you are honest you shouldnt worry. is better to tell him you dont love him anymore than love him hipocriticaly it will hurt his ego even more. believe what i tell you it happened with my ex and eventhough she ended up being a ....... not a lady.. it hurt and i felt like i was never going to find love again.

There is no way to do it without hurting him. You just need to be as nice as you can and say these past 3 years have been the best ever, but we need a change. Then try and hook him up with someone who will love him or whatever to show that you still care.

After 3yrs no matter how you put it...it will Hurt His Feelings*, and if he doesn't even have a clue it's coming....it will blow his mind*
If you're wanting to break up...You need to be Honest with him and let him know WHY* you feel you need to do this.
Hope for the best*and you can remain friends...but he will be very hurt no matter how you tell him* ....Honesty* is the best way*~ Then there is no misunderstandings. No need to be cruel when breaking his heart...but be Honest*~GoodLUck*

There's no way around it, feelings will be hurt if you guys have been together for 3yrs unless the feeling is mutual. It would be better to end it quick rather than drawing out a relationship you don't want to be in.

there is no way, after three years, especially if he doesn't see that anything is wrong. just be understanding, and even though you are obviously over it, he won't be. also, try to answer his questions, even though they may be the same ones over and over, just be there for him. oh, and be prepared- he's going to go through a bunch of emotions, so watch out...there will be grief, anger, sadness, etc! good luck! :o)

ps. don't start dating anybody too quickly afterward either, it will just make the situation worse!

If he loves you he is gonna be hurt no matter what. Be honest and upfront. Don't drag it on anymore then you have to. Try not putting him down when you break up with him. Some people aren't meant to be its that simple.

Unfortunately there is No way you can break up with a person and not expect them to hurt. That is what makes us human beings. Just think if it were him to break up with you, Im sure you would be crushed.

His feelings may or may not be hurt. Feelings come and go. The reality is that you do not want to be with him. You don't have to be cruel but you can't avoid the inevitable.

i hate to break it to you but there is really no way to break up with someone you have been with for 3 years without hurting them. the one exception is if the break-up is mutual. however, typically whenever feelings are involved someone is bound to get hurt.
