Yes...social scientists go through the scientific method in order to do research and further knowledge of their subject like researchers in other sciences. However, it is true that most social science research is quasi-experimental due to primarily ethical issues.

Sometimes social sciences are referred to as "soft sciences" (as opposed to a "hard science" like chemistry).

Yes it is a science, since a science can be defined as having knowledge on a subject or distinguishing between knowledge and ignorance, through studying or learning about that subject. Knowing and learning about different cultures, social norms, etc is therefore a science.

I would say yes because social science is a blanket term for sociology, psychology, anthropology, political science, history, geography, and economics. So it includes many actual sciences in the term.
