Hey, I work in high tech.
I can very much assert that arab men DO let thier wives work!!! Many of the women in my work are devote muslims, even wearing Hajibs and their husbands are more than happy with that.
That said, there are MANY advantages to having somebody stay at home and look after the kids. My WASP grandma did this and she not only raised too very bright daughters but she helped out in her community, doing all kinds of charities and such. I'm not 100% sure that are society is better this way, with the 2 working parents. Notice I did not say in all cases it should be the wife staying home. I've seen people work either way.

Arab men do let their women have jobs. A woman can have a job if she gets her husband's permission. Arab men are brought up to learn that it's their job to work and provide for the family. The woman can be a doctor or a teacher. But if she has children then she should stay home and take care of the children and the house. My husband is from Saudi Arabia. Also most of these men and women are Muslims as well.

It really isn't just an issue about Arab culture. If a woman works, the man will have to share in household responsibilities, and in many cultures, that is emasculating.
A lot of Immigrant men have a hard time adjusting to American culture. Many don't mind the woman working as long as she cooks, cleans, does the laundry etc... Of course, the women often opt to stay home as they don't want two jobs.

Hossam?? Such an Arabic name.
Actually they do let their women work...and Islam has nothing to do with prohibiting it.
Islam prefers women to stay in their homes taking care of their house, kids and family but still allows women to work...
Anyway, if you are talking about married women, sometimes their husbands prefer it if they become stay at home moms, but still many married women work..
and the number of girls applying and studying in universities is increasing yearly..

Pure fear on the man's part. Women feel independence when allowed to be in the workforce- in the world contributing-they start standing up for themselves. Many people believe that is what happened to our perfect society of the 50's woman went to work our voices were heard and other listened. We rebelled so will they

Arab men do not trust their women. They think if they are given the chance they will sleep with another man and dupe the husband into raising and paying for another mans child.

Islamic rules say women are inferior to men (surah 4:34 in the koran), so muslim men have historically limited the opportunities for women unfortunate enough to be subject to their whims.
