my Question is how come Windows media player let me burn some songs ?

I am not sure of all the reasons but one is that they are making it harder for people to 'steal' music. My son downloaded and burned a CD it played on his computer, but not mine because they are making the newer music to read the computer it was recorded on and making it useless on others. The same with downloading some individual songs on the internet. They are programmed to make it hard to download.
