In the Star Wars movie (I believe it's the 4th), Luke (as a teenager, early twenties, the home where he grew up with his aunt and uncle already destroyed or just about to be) and Obi-Wan are out in the desert where the sand creatures (tusken raiders) live. Does Obi tell Luke that the strom troopers or the raiders marched ina single line to hide their numbers?

He said it was Tusken Raiders but I think he knew it was Imperial Stormtroopers.

Obi Wan tells Luke that Sand People (also known as Tusken Raiders) walk single file to hide their numbers.

The Stormtroopers did not march in a single file while attacking the Jawa Sandcrawler, but left gaffi sticks to make it look like it was attacked by Tusken Raiders.

To answer it simply, Obi-Wan told Luke that Tuskens always ride in a single file to hide their numbers.

Yes. He also told Luke that the blasts on the vehicle were too precise to be from the Sand People. Any other Star Wars questions? I'm a total Star Wars nut.

OK, I know you said 'movie' but here's the take from the book:
Kenobi says "Whoever left here was riding Banthas side by side. Sandpeople always ride one Bantha behind another, single file, to hide their strength from any distant observers." He also says "Look at the precision with which this firepower was applied. Sandpeople aren't this accurate. In fact, no one on Tatooine fires and destroys with this kind of efficiency........."Only Imperial troops would mount an attack on a sandcrawler with this kind of cold accuracy."
